Life After Graduation: A New Beginning

As I walked across the stage at SUNY Plattsburgh, diploma in hand, I was filled with excitement, pride, and a little bit of uncertainty. Graduating is such a huge milestone, but it also signals the beginning of something new — stepping out into the world and figuring out what's next.

The truth is, life after graduation isn’t always easy. The job search can be daunting, and there’s a real pressure to find your place in the world. Like many new grads, I’ve had moments of doubt and the occasional question of "what now?" But alongside those challenges, there’s also a sense of possibility.

For me, this phase of life has led to something unexpected: starting my own business, Duquette Designs. It’s a creative outlet where I can design unique pieces that reflect my personal style and passions. It’s exciting and a little scary, but that’s part of the journey. Building something from the ground up isn’t easy, but it’s incredibly rewarding.

Starting Duquette Designs has given me a sense of direction and purpose during this transitional time. Sure, there are a lot of unknowns, but that’s what makes it an adventure. I’m learning to embrace the unpredictability, trusting that this new chapter will lead to something fulfilling and meaningful.

To all my fellow recent grads out there, I get it — navigating life after college is a challenge, but it’s also an opportunity to redefine ourselves and chase our dreams. It’s a new beginning, and while it might be tough at times, I truly believe the best is yet to come.

Here’s to the journey ahead!
